Many merchants, agencies, municipalities and individuals throughout the Bluefield area look to the I.A.F.F. Fire Extinguisher Service for their portable extinguisher needs. Qualified members work diligently to service many portable extinguishers each week. In addition to performing recharges and inspections of cylinders, the Extinguisher Service also arranges hydrostatic testing for all types of cylinders, sells new and used extinguishers, and offers a complete line of accessories and support literature.
Due mainly to its low operating costs and non-profit approach, the Service is able to make a modest income while offering very reasonable prices. The prices that the Extinguisher Service charges for its products and services are considerably less than the prevailing retail prices found in catalogs, hardware stores, or discount houses. Proceeds from the Extinguisher Service's efforts are used to support all Local 347 activities, including many special projects, such as special Christmas toy drives, landscaping, etc.
